What insurance do you accept?
I currently accept CareFirst insurance of Maryland and DC. I am considered an out-of-network provider for all other BCBS plans and plans from other states. I DO NOT accept Anthem BlueCross BlueShield plans.
I am part of the SpringHealth EAP (Employee Assistance Program) platform. If your employer offers sessions via SpringHealth I am able to see you or your child at no cost to you for the amount of sessions covered by your employer. I may be able to see you at a lower cost even after your covered sessions are used. To find out more about seeing me via SpringHealth please contact your employer.
I am also considered an out of network provider with TRICARE. This means I can see certain members of the military, their spouses, and family members. If you are unsure whether I can see you or if your TRICARE plan will cover services, please contact me and I will be happy to help determine your eligibility.
What if I don't have one of the insurances you accept?
I currently do not accept any other commercial insurance outside of CareFirst and TRICARE, but I'm more than happy to see you! I provide monthly superbills with all the information your insurance company needs to reimburse you. If you are submitting superbills to insurance for reimbursement the amount you receive is dependent on your plan. I am not able to negotiate rates or reimbursement amounts.
What do I have to pay for services if I use insurance?
Your copay and coinsurance, or amounts you have to pay for services that your plan doesn't cover, depend on your specific insurance plan. Another factor is how much of your deductible you have reached. You can usually get that information by checking your insurance company's online portal or calling your insurance company's customer service line. Before we start therapy I will also call your insurance company to confirm your payment amounts to make sure everything checks out.
Why do I have to give you a credit card if I'm paying with insurance?
Payment is due at time of service. I accept all major credit cards and require one to be on file for everyone. Even if you are using insurance to pay for services, I require a credit card to be on file for copays, deductibles, or late cancellations. This does not apply for SpringHealth clients as they handle payments.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate at any time, and I am required by law to provide you with one if you plan to pay out-of-pocket and not submit to insurance for reimbursement. A Good Faith Estimate outlines an estimate of what your treatment will cost. For more information visit: https://www.cms.gov/medical-bill-rights/help/guides/good-faith-estimate
