Court & Legal Assessments

1
Why get an assessment? Is this right for me and my needs?
Court and mental health assessments are helpful when you or your legal team are trying to prove a point to the court and need support from a licensed professional. Some examples include gaining or keeping child custody, showing that you or your client is mentally stable, or wanting extra evidence to show your side of the case and how you see things. Assessments also help attorneys make more educated decisions about your case.
2
What does an assessment look like? How much time does it take to do one?
Assessments are done in my office so that the process feels more natural. We will spend 1-2 hours together going over a series of questions related specifically to you and understanding your case. Think of this as a no-stress interview where there are no right or wrong answers and as a place where you can make your concerns and feelings heard. The questions asked will be specific to your situation and be done in a safe, comfortable environment.

What Happens After My Assessment?
You and/or your legal team will be given a thorough report based on the assessment. This can be used in court proceedings, negotiations, and serve as important evidence that your attorneys can use.
Since I will have done your assessment, I can also serve as an expert witness and testify on your behalf in court or give my professional opinion in a setting outside of court. Where and how I do this would be discussed with you and your legal team.
